Victim discrimination
Real case Real story
Brooklyn VA Hospital discriminated and retaliated against the registered nurse
My name is Eugene Kaganovich. I'm registered nurse and certified diabetes educator. I'm working as RN at Brooklyn VA Hospital for 19 years.
In 2012, I was required to be off from work for over six months related to my health condition (diabetes Type I). Before I returned back to work in March 2012 my doctors and I requested reasonable accommodations based on my health condition.
VA is the government hospital which legally obligated provide and accommodate the employee with disabilities.
VA hospital must be an example, but as you can see from my personal case how they support people with disabilities.
When I applied for reasonable accommodation in 2012 it was denied by my supervisor and VA administration.
Now is 2018 and my case finally reached district court in NY. The 7 years I was fighting to STOP discrimination and retaliation against me. My case is horrible and heartbreaking.
